ENF Technology adds third US client at Texas chemical site
The South Korean supplier begins delivering cleaning chemicals to an unnamed European device maker, widening its central Texas footprint beyond anchor lines for Samsung and Intel.
ENF Technology secured on Nov. 2, 2026, its third U.S. customer, starting shipments of cleaning-grade aqueous ammonia from its Kyle, Texas plant to a European integrated device manufacturer.
The South Korean electronic materials maker has not published the financial value of the contract. Initial supply batches remain small and fall below mandatory stock exchange disclosure thresholds, according to industry sources.
The transaction follows a $23 million facility expansion that ENF completed at Kyle in April 2026, lifting cumulative capital spending at the site beyond 100 billion won ($68 million).
The new buyer operates wafer manufacturing facilities in the United States and maintains corporate headquarters in Europe. Commercial talks are underway to expand supply volumes and add chemical product lines.
Aqueous ammonia is a wet chemical used to scrub silicon wafers. Semiconductor fabs mix the compound with hydrogen peroxide to dissolve and strip organic surface impurities during wafer cleaning cycles.
Samsung Electronics remains the primary anchor buyer for the Kyle complex. ENF built the Texas site to support Samsung's foundry operations in Austin, starting initial material deliveries in 2021.
Supply lines expanded in April 2026 when ENF began shipping general process chemicals to Samsung's newly built manufacturing site in Taylor, Texas.
The company broadened that shipment agreement in September 2026 by adding tetramethylammonium hydroxide, a chemical agent used in photolithography development.
Tetramethylammonium hydroxide dissolves photoresist layers exposed to light, leaving fine circuit patterns intact on the wafer substrate.
ENF now supplies five chemical formulations to Samsung's Austin and Taylor fabs. The deliveries comprise aqueous ammonia, phosphoric acid, tetramethylammonium hydroxide, photoresist developers and pattern thinners.
The Kyle facility also maintains an active supply relationship with Intel. Shipments to the American chipmaker began earlier in 2026, covering photolithography adhesion agents and chemical solvents.
Intel purchases hexamethyldisilazane from ENF to promote photoresist adhesion on wafer surfaces before ultraviolet exposure patterns are applied.
The supplier also delivers propylene glycol methyl ether acetate to Intel, providing high-purity solvent used in chemical thinning and residue rinsing processes.
The Kyle facility operates under local subsidiary ENF Kyle Technology LLC. The operating entity is 91.97% owned by intermediate holding firm ENF USA Holdings, which is fully owned by the South Korean parent.
Corporate filings with the Financial Supervisory Service show extensive financial backing for the American site. In March 2026, ENF extended parent debt payment guarantees totaling 192.8 billion won to support the Kyle entity.
The Texas operation has faced sustained financial losses since entering commercial production. Weak utilization rates and construction delays at Samsung's Taylor foundry curtailed expected material consumption across central Texas.
Revenue at ENF USA Holdings stood at 7.1 billion won in 2021 and rose to 16.8 billion won in 2023 before dipping to 14.8 billion won in 2024, filings show.
Sales rebounded to approximately 17.3 billion won, yet fixed plant overhead and delayed fab openings kept operating margins negative.
ENF expects the April 2026 plant expansion to generate between 30 billion won and 40 billion won in incremental annual revenue once client fabs ramp to targeted rates.
Other South Korean semiconductor chemical suppliers have faced similar timing hurdles across Texas. Dongjin Semichem completed sulfuric acid and thinner plants in Plainview and Killeen in 2024, but postponed volume runs amid soft foundry utilization.
Securing a European integrated device manufacturer broadens plant utilization beyond a single anchor client. The addition helps spread fixed operating costs while regional foundry fabs work through prolonged commercial commissioning schedules.
Transporting ultra-pure electronic chemicals over long sea routes poses contamination risks and inventory carrying expenses. Onshore chemical blending in central Texas provides chipmakers nearby delivery access within thirty minutes of Austin.
Regulatory filings and company announcements do not state the name of the European integrated device manufacturer, the multi-year volume commitments or the specific pricing terms for the shipments.
Trial production runs at Samsung's Taylor fab are scheduled to conclude ahead of commercial wafer manufacturing in 2027, setting the operational timeline for larger chemical intake from Kyle.
ENF continues qualification testing for advanced etching mixtures and electronic-grade formulations at its domestic research laboratories to support additional North American product lines.
