Bigwave Robotics partners with automation suppliers to scale US physical AI

Bigwave Robotics formed commercial alliances on Aug. 31, 2026 with five global automation suppliers to deploy brand-agnostic physical artificial intelligence software across North American factory floors.

The agreements link Bigwave's orchestration software with industrial robots from FANUC, Universal Robots, Rockwell Automation, Rainbow Robotics and Omron Automation. The setup targets brownfield manufacturing lines across the United States.

Seoul-based Bigwave operates an operating hub in Troy, Michigan. The company sells software that coordinates fleets of mobile robots, robotic arms and factory machinery made by different manufacturers.

Under the integrator agreements, Bigwave will deploy its SOLlink software platform to control heterogeneous robot fleets at US manufacturing plants. The platform coordinates multi-vendor machinery from a single console.

Bigwave also signed a memorandum of understanding with Rainbow Robotics, an automation supplier backed by Samsung Electronics. Rainbow will supply hardware interfaces for its RB-Y1 mobile dual-arm semi-humanoid robot.

Rainbow Robotics will also provide application programming interfaces for its autonomous mobile robots, collaborative arms and quadruped robots. Bigwave will manage on-site fleet integration and operational data through its Data Studio software.

The partnership between Bigwave and Rainbow Robotics took effect through an agreement signed on Aug. 20, 2026. The two companies plan joint pilot projects for academic and industrial clients in North America.

Safety compliance forms a key part of the North American commercial roll-out. Bigwave signed an agreement with Omron Automation to co-develop safety frameworks for dual-arm semi-humanoid robots in industrial settings.

The collaboration with Omron integrates programmable logic controllers, emergency stop switches and laser scanners. The integrated systems will follow international industrial safety benchmarks under ISO 12100 and ISO 13849-1.

The technical alliance targets US manufacturing facilities that seek to add automation without replacing existing machinery. Integrators refer to this retrofit approach as a brownfield strategy.

Industrial plants often run hardware from multiple suppliers, which complicates fleet coordination and data collection. Software platforms that sit above individual robot controllers solve this compatibility barrier.

Bigwave secured $450,000, or approximately 700 million won, in US supply contracts during its first six months in the market. The revenue covers an automotive parts assembly project and a university research platform.

The automotive project will test multi-robot scheduling algorithms on an active assembly line. The university research contract involves deploying the RB-Y1 semi-humanoid platform for physical AI task training.

Bigwave filed for a listing on South Korea's junior KOSDAQ market in May 2026 under the technology business model fast-track rule. Eugene Investment & Securities and Mirae Asset Securities lead the listing process.

The listing review will assess the commercial growth of Bigwave's software offerings in overseas factory automation markets. The listing schedule remains subject to formal regulatory clearance from the Korea Exchange.

Bigwave said it will expand local engineering support in Michigan to handle field deployments, proof-of-concept trials and remote maintenance across Midwest manufacturing facilities.
