Seremban unit secures 30M yuan cross-border hardware contract
MIE Material Resources will route Chinese data center hardware into Malaysia under an agreement equal to 32% of the group's equity.
Seremban Engineering Berhad confirmed on Nov. 7 that its wholly owned subsidiary secured a cross-border supply chain framework contract valued at a provisional 30 million yuan ($4.1 million).
The Malaysian group, which fabricates process equipment and industrial metal structures, will procure hardware across China through unit MIE Material Resources Sdn Bhd. The shipments will support data center facilities in Malaysia.
The provisional sum translates to 18.21 million ringgit ($4.1 million) under the exchange rate fixed in the filing. The headline figure represents approximately 32% of Seremban Engineering's total market equity, which stood at 56 million ringgit ($12.6 million).
The counterparty is EPG Engineering System Sdn Bhd, a domestic entity incorporated in Malaysia. EPG Engineering System operates as the wholly owned operating arm of a Singapore-based technical consulting firm focused on artificial intelligence computing facilities.
Under the framework pact, MIE Material Resources acts as the principal vendor managing the movement of equipment out of mainland Chinese industrial centers. The company will supervise factory pickups, port dispatch and long-haul freight.
The agreement assigns full operational oversight of cross-border customs documentation to the contractor. MIE Material Resources must complete export clearances at Chinese harbors, pay applicable maritime duties and clear inbound customs inspection at Malaysian entry ports.
Final inland trucking to designated facility compounds falls within the contractual scope. The vendor must transfer high-specification power racks, cooling modules and auxiliary engineering goods directly to building sites chosen by the client.
Billing will proceed on an order-by-order structure rather than as a lump-sum disbursement, the company said in a regulatory filing to Bursa Malaysia. EPG Engineering System will issue discrete purchase orders specifying item volumes and delivery destinations.
The framework nature of the award means aggregate revenue recognition is contingent on actual order releases over the four operating quarters. Seremban Engineering will register top-line earnings progressively once equipment parcels clear site inspection.
Seremban Engineering plans to finance procurement obligations using existing cash reserves alongside commercial credit facilities. The arrangement avoids equity dilution, leaving the parent group's issued share capital intact.
The commercial transaction proceeds without requiring shareholder voting or sovereign regulatory exemptions. The engineering contractor described the scope of services as part of its recurring commercial operations in heavy industrial procurement.
Material cost movements and ocean shipping spot rates represent the primary variables influencing final project margins, the company said. Cross-border logistics between southern Chinese ports and Peninsular Malaysia face regular fluctuations in container surcharges and clearance scheduling.
Currency movements between the Chinese yuan and the Malaysian ringgit also present operational risk. Because the framework valuation is pegged in yuan, foreign exchange shifts during the 12-month fulfillment span could alter net margins on local deliveries.
Contract execution links Malaysian fabrication contractors directly into the supply chains feeding hyperscale computing facilities. Regional cloud operators and artificial intelligence server firms have accelerated construction across Johor and Greater Kuala Lumpur over the past two years.
Those digital infrastructure projects require sustained shipments of specialized cooling systems, uninterrupted power units and precision electrical distribution racks from Chinese factories. Local contractors handle customs and domestic logistics to avoid regulatory delays at coastal container terminals.
Engineering groups across Southeast Asia have expanded procurement divisions to capture cross-border equipment flows. By bundling freight management with localized installation logistics, regional fabricators position themselves as critical intermediaries for multinational developers operating in Association of Southeast Asian Nations corridors.
The contract took effect on Nov. 6, 2026, and remains valid through Nov. 5, 2027. The two parties will conduct periodic quarterly reviews to adjust purchase orders against installation milestones across Malaysian construction locations.
The disclosure does not identify the ultimate parent company of the Singapore-based engineering client, and Seremban Engineering has not published an itemized equipment manifest detailing the hardware components scheduled for transport.
