Samsung Electronics ordered additional manufacturing tools on Oct. 23 to add 6,000 wafers per month of 2-nanometer foundry capacity at its fabrication plant in Taylor, Texas.
The equipment procurement will fill the remaining cleanroom space inside Taylor Fab 1. The installation brings the plant to its designed ceiling of 20,000 monthly wafers on the 2nm node by the second half of 2027.
