Corvus Energy AS secured marine Type Approval from classification society DNV on Oct. 8, 2026, clearing its Blue Whale NxtGen lithium iron phosphate battery system co-developed with BYD Energy Storage for commercial vessels.

The Type Approval verifies that the energy storage system satisfies international maritime safety and mechanical reliability regulations. The clearance permits commercial installations aboard hybrid tugboats, offshore workboats and roll-on roll-off passenger vessels.
