Samsung Electronics and SK hynix saw their combined weighting on the benchmark KOSPI index fall to 50.0% on Oct. 24, according to Korea Exchange data.

The dip marks a five-point retreat from June 22, when the two semiconductor manufacturers accounted for 55.7% of total market capitalization. That historic peak occurred before global technology hardware spending slowed.
