United States and Chinese trade officials concluded technical working-level reviews Oct. 11, 2026, advancing a reciprocal $60 billion tariff-reduction schedule covering non-sensitive consumer goods and agricultural commodities. The technical sessions finalized operating procedures following bilateral ministerial talks late last month.

The arrangement pairs $30 billion of Chinese consumer shipments with $30 billion of American exports, based on 2024 bilateral trade values. That American quota represents about 30% of total U.S. merchandise exports to China, according to the Office of the U.S. Trade Representative.
