Doosan Robotics reported Oct. 29 that third-quarter revenue climbed 59.1% from a year earlier, driven by rising shipments of turnkey palletizing systems to logistics warehouses in North America.

The collaborative robot builder posted consolidated revenue of 16.18 billion won ($11.7 million) for the three months ended Sept. 30, up from 10.17 billion won during the same period in 2025.

North American end-customer contracts generated 55% of the 49.14 billion won ($35.6 million) in cumulative revenue recorded through the first nine months of the year, the company said in an earnings presentation.

The revenue expansion reflects a deliberate shift away from selling standalone robotic arms toward delivering complete end-of-line automation cells. In end-of-line manufacturing, automated equipment packages, inspects and stacks goods on pallets before final warehouse dispatch.

Sales across the company's North American end-of-line unit rose roughly 55% year-on-year in the third quarter. Commercial demand centered on integrated packaging lines that replace scarce warehouse floor labor across food, consumer goods and manufacturing distribution facilities.

Operating margins improved alongside higher system billings. Doosan Robotics narrowed its quarterly operating loss by 12.2% to 13.40 billion won, compared with an operating shortfall of 15.27 billion won in the third quarter of 2025.

Sequential performance showed stable cost absorption across production lines. The operating loss contracted 7.0% from the second quarter, even as consolidated revenue dipped 8.5% quarter-on-quarter due to customer delivery scheduling.

Nine-month performance mirrored the top-line recovery. Cumulative revenue climbed 146.0% to 49.14 billion won, up from 19.98 billion won in the corresponding nine-month period last year as overseas distributor channels converted customer trials into commercial deployments.

Cumulative operating losses narrowed 7.3% to 39.89 billion won over the nine-month stretch, according to the preliminary earnings disclosure filed with the Financial Supervisory Service.

Net financial performance weakened despite the operational recovery. Third-quarter net loss widened 42.3% year-on-year to 18.30 billion won, compared with a net deficit of 12.86 billion won in the third quarter of 2025.

Cumulative net loss through Sept. 30 widened 3.6% to 40.26 billion won. Non-operating foreign exchange adjustments and elevated financial carrying costs contributed to the wider net deficit, the filing showed.

Selling, general and administrative expenses remained high throughout the quarter. Doosan Robotics expanded its commercial headcount across the United States, opening regional field engineering offices in high-density industrial and distribution clusters.

Research and engineering allocations accounted for another large share of quarterly operating costs. The manufacturer directed capital toward proprietary motion software, machine-vision algorithms and artificial intelligence applications tailored for logistics automation.

The commercial sales push relies on heavy-payload collaborative arms engineered for pallet stacking. The company's P-series collaborative arm handles payloads up to 30 kilograms with a 2.03-meter working radius, allowing end users to load two-meter pallets without secondary mechanical lifts.

Bundling proprietary software with machinery protects unit pricing. The company pairs its hardware with PalletizOS, a specialized operating system that generates stacking patterns automatically and reduces installation timelines from multiple weeks to three days.

The transition from component vendor to systems integrator changes how revenue flows through distributor networks. Instead of competing on unit pricing against industrial machinery vendors, Doosan Robotics delivers preconfigured packaging cells through automation integration partners.

Automation integrators install these pre-engineered workcells directly on customer factory floors. Partner firms incorporate conveyors, safety sensors and vacuum end effectors into standard Doosan Robotics arm frames, billing end clients on a fixed turnkey basis.

American manufacturing facilities face chronic frontline labor deficits in physically strenuous loading tasks. Turnkey palletizing cells eliminate repetitive lifting injuries and stabilize packing throughput across three operating shifts.

Workplace safety standards encourage collaborative robot adoption over traditional caged industrial machinery. Collaborative systems use built-in torque sensors to halt motion upon human contact, allowing facilities to deploy automated stacking cells without erecting safety enclosures.

Higher hardware throughput accelerates investment returns for warehouse operators. Systems equipped with path-optimization software process up to 11 cartons per minute, compressing the capital recovery period for mid-sized contract packagers.

The earnings disclosure filed Oct. 29 does not state the absolute currency value of North American end-of-line shipments, and Doosan Robotics has not published product-level revenue for its US operating subsidiary.

The preliminary figures remain subject to external review. Doosan Robotics will submit its final quarterly report and audited balance sheet to the Korea Exchange before the statutory filing deadline on Nov. 14, 2026.
