Doosan Robotics reported Oct. 29 that third-quarter revenue rose 59.1% year-on-year to 16.18 billion won ($11.7 million), driven by surging North American warehouse orders for automated packing equipment.

The Suwon-based company is South Korea's largest collaborative robot manufacturer by volume. Its lightweight articulated arms work alongside human staff in industrial plants without physical safety barriers.

Consolidated turnover climbed from 10.17 billion won in the third quarter of 2025. The expansion marks the fastest annual revenue growth rate since the manufacturer listed on the Korea Exchange in October 2023.

Operating losses narrowed by 12.2% to 13.40 billion won ($9.7 million) from 15.27 billion won a year earlier. Operating overhead declined by 1.86 billion won as higher factory volumes absorbed overhead.

Net losses deepened by 42.3% to 18.30 billion won ($13.2 million) compared with a 12.86 billion won deficit a year earlier. Non-operating financial expenses and foreign exchange valuations dragged on net earnings.

Cumulative revenue for the first nine months of 2026 reached 49.14 billion won ($35.5 million). That represents a 146% surge from 19.98 billion won booked during the same period in 2025.

Nine-month operating losses shrank 7.3% to 39.89 billion won from 43.02 billion won. Cumulative net loss widened by 3.6% to 40.26 billion won across the three quarters, the company said.

Growth centered on Doosan Robotics Americas, the subsidiary managing distribution across the United States and Canada. The regional unit generated $6.8 million in third-quarter revenue, a 27% increase from $5.4 million a year earlier.

End-of-line automation — machinery that packs and stacks finished goods onto pallets at the close of a line — drove regional gains. Sales in that category jumped 55% year-on-year from $3.2 million to $5.0 million.

High-payload collaborative arms, termed cobots, are replacing manual laborers in American consumer packaging plants. Warehouse operators face chronic recruitment shortages and physical injury liabilities associated with repetitive heavy lifting.

Palletizing requires continuous handling of containers weighing up to 25 kilograms. Conventional industrial robots require isolated steel cages that consume floor space, making collaborative machines attractive for retrofitting existing packaging bays.

The American expansion has altered the geographical balance of the business. North America generated 55% of cumulative sales through September, up from 27% across all of 2025, according to regulatory filings.

The Korean domestic market previously accounted for the majority of installations. Stagnant domestic capital expenditure and industrial factory restructuring pushed the company to pivot sales resources toward export channels.

Product composition shifted alongside geography. Integrated automation solutions accounted for 50% of total revenue during the first nine months of 2026, rising sharply from a 22% share in 2025.

Sales of standalone robotic arms fell to 35% of revenue over the same period, down from 56% in 2025. Software packages, peripheral grippers and field services accounted for the remaining 15%.

Selling pre-configured end-of-line palletizing cells yields higher average selling prices than unequipped arm hardware. Bundled systems include vision sensors, conveyor integration and proprietary programming software developed for warehouse operators.

Operating expenses remained elevated despite top-line expansion. The company attributed ongoing deficits to facility relocation expenses in North America, regional service team hiring and continuing software research investments.

Engineering outlays focus on autonomous agentic software and industrial humanoids. Doosan Robotics held a technical workshop with Nvidia in September following an artificial intelligence robotics partnership announced in June.

The South Korean government awarded Doosan Robotics two research contracts totaling 100 billion won in October. The grants support an 85.7 billion won on-device semiconductor project for intelligent industrial robotics.

Management officially guided that full-year 2026 revenue at Doosan Robotics Americas will grow by more than 50% year-on-year. The forecast assumes sustained warehouse automation demand and expanded distribution warehouse capacity.

The regulatory filing does not disclose individual customer contract names or unit prices, which the manufacturer treats as proprietary business data.

Reported figures represent preliminary unaudited estimates prepared under Korean International Financial Reporting Standards. External auditors will review the numbers before Doosan Robotics files its formal quarterly report on Nov. 14.
