We fix mistakes in the open. If you have found one, tell us and we will act on it.

## How to report an error

Email [editor@eastasiabrief.com](mailto:editor@eastasiabrief.com) with the briefing link and what is wrong. A link to the source document helps most. We respond to every credible report.

## How we handle it

- Correction — a factual error. We fix the text and add a dated correction note at the bottom of the briefing explaining what changed.

- Clarification — the facts were right but the wording could mislead. We tighten it and note the change.

- Update — the briefing was accurate but events moved. We add the new information and change the "Updated" timestamp.

- Confidence change — if a source turns out to be weaker than we judged, we lower the confidence grade and say why. See methodology.

We do not silently edit a published briefing to erase an error, and we do not delete one to make a mistake disappear. If a briefing has to be withdrawn, the URL stays live with an editor's note explaining why.
